NEW DELHI: Migrant workers heading for their villages had a harrowing time in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh on Monday when the administration allegedly sprayed disinfectant on a group of 100 such people.
The migrant workers who had walked down from Noida and Delhi after loss of jobs due to the nationwide lockdown were stopped at Satellite bus station in Bareilly and told they would be given food and that buses would be arranged.
According to government sources, the administration allegedly sprayed a diluted mixture of sodium hypochlorite, used in laundry bleaching, detergents and disinfectant, on the group.
