A stream of migrants find refuge in India’s orange city

There are scores of stories of migrants, who ran out of cash and food, being cared for playing out on Nagpur’s streets NAGPUR : In the past week or so, hundreds of migrants from across Nagpur and the Vidarbha region have been on the move.

While the so-called ‘orange city’ has come to a grinding halt with the privileged locked in, a steady flow of migrants were seen trudging towards their homes in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

On Tuesday, a team of traffic policemen spotted a few migrants seeking directions to Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh, which is 150km away.

Two days ago, a group of tired and worried teenagers had reached the city from Visakhapatnam on their way to Karauli in Rajasthan.
