JD Wetherspoon's has announced that it is starting to plan for the reopening of its pubs and hotels. It comes as many food-chains such as McDonald's begin trialling the reopening of some of its restaurants.
All pubs and restaurants across the UK have been closed since March 23. Wetherspoon's latest announcement confirms that it's in talks to open the doors of some of its branches with a date of "in or around June".
The chain, which operates more than 800 pubs across the country, said in a stock market announcement: "The company is likely to make some changes to its operating model, assuming increased social distancing, and anticipates a gradual recovery in customer numbers.
