The Northern Ireland Executive will publish its plans for a phased ending of Covid-19 restrictions today. Like the approach taken by the Irish Government, the plan will set out a five-point road map for a phased lifting of restrictions, but there will not be target dates for each phase.
Instead, the trigger for each step will be determined by scientific and medical advice. Politicians at Stormont have clashed several times in recent weeks on the best way to tackle Covid-19, but they are expected to speak with one voice when they publish the plan.
The Stormont Executive has made it clear that like the devolved administrations in Scotland and Wales, it will not be following the blueprint set out by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
