Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan was incredulous after noticing the lack of social distancing in the airport and plane that travel expert Simon Calder was in.

Simon had been boarding the EasyJet plane to Scotland as flights open up to the public amid the loosening of coronavirus restrictions in the UK today.

He had been charting the process on Good Morning Britain, revealing that the flight cost more than double what it usually would.

However, Piers was distracted by the lack of social distancing behind him in queues and on the plane itself. Asked whether he needed to maintain social distancing on board, Simon said: "No you absolutely can't.
