Over the past few weeks, several people in the North West have noticed some changes to the taste of their tap water. People have said that their water tastes 'a lot stronger than usual' during lockdown - and some have even been left worried.
To set things straight, the ECHO asked United Utilities, the water company which serves almost seven million people across the North West, what could explain these comments.
The company explained people might be noticing slight differences in their tap water at the moment. A tiny amount of chlorine is added to tap water to ensure it "stays clean and germ free", and United Utilities said no extra chlorine was being added to tap water currently.
