An 86-year-old woman has died after being punched in the face for "not social distancing " amid the coronavirus outbreak. The incident occurred in the emergency room at Woodhull Medical Center in New York, whilst Janie Marshall was waiting for her treatment for bowel blockage, The Sun reports.

The patient allegedly hit her in the face, after leaping out of her nearby bed, whilst awaiting psychiatric treatment and launched into the unprovoked attack, sources told The Post on Sunday.

After the attack which occurred at 2pm on Saturday, Ms Marshall fell to the ground which resulted in her cracking her head on the floor.

PHILADELPHIA - No one was injured after a gunman opened fire on a Philadelphia police officer during a shootout Wednesday afternoon in Germantown.Philadelphia Police Sergeant Eric Gripp told reporters that two plainclothes officers in an unmarked car were patrolling the 4800 block of Keyser Street around 2 p.m. when they came upon a shootout between a 23-year-old and a 20-year-old.
