PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify a shooter and a person of interest in connection with a fatal shooting on a SEPTA bus in Philadelphia. The shooting took place on Wednesday night inside a bus on the 5200 block of Germantown Avenue, police say. According to investigators, a confrontation between the suspect and a young man broke out on the bus before shots were fired. MANTUA, N.J. - A police officer who fatally shot a homeowner who had called 911 to report intruders outside his southern New Jersey home has been indicted on a manslaughter charge.The count against Mantua Township Police Officer Salvatore Oldrati was handed up Tuesday by a state grand jury and was made public Wednesday night. He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.The charge stems from the Sept. 14, 2021, death of Charles Sharp III, 49, who called 911 around 1:30 a.m.

UPPER MERION, Pa. - Two Philadelphia men are wanted for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise from high-end retail stores at the King of Prussia Mall over the last several months. Anthony Abner,35, and Brian Hughes, 32, are connected to at least seven thefts and strong-armed robberies, five of which happened between February and May. In one incident, authorities say the men stole over 40 pairs of Octane jeans and merchandise totaling more than $15k. They're accused of hitting big-name store located inside the mall like Sunglass Hut, GAP. During the stretch of robberies, police said the men have become physically aggressive. In one case, police say an unidentified man working alongside Hughes forcibly pushed a 77-year-old Optical World employee against a wall before grabbing 10 pairs of glasses. That theft, according to police, totaled more that $18k. "In this day and age, the world is going through things, things we’ve never gone through, and so I think security is the number one priority everywhere," Amber Diaz of Port Richmond said.Court documents show the pair is also wanted for at least one theft at a Sunglass Hut in Cherry Hill. Upper Merion Police say there are several active warrants our for Abner and Hughes.

CHICORA, Pa. - A Pennsylvania nurse is facing charges connected to the death of two patients and the hospitalization of a third, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office. Authorities say the nurse, identified as 40-year-old Heather Pressdee of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, gave lethal doses of unnecessary medication to patients, resulting in their deaths. According to officials, the alleged incidents took place at Quality Life Services, a skilled nursing facility in Chicora, where Presdee was a registered nurse. Presdee is facing charges in the deaths of a 55-year-old man and an 83-year-old in addition to the hospitalization of a 73-year-old man, authorities say. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESInvestigators say the victims were under Pressdee's care when they received overdoses of insulin that caused medical emergencies and the deaths of two patients. The two men died on December 4, 2022, and December 25, 2022, per officials. Authorities say two of the three men were not diabetic. Pressdee was taken into custody on Wednesday and was arraigned on charges before being sent to the Butler County Prison, officials say. She has been charged with two counts of homicide, a count of attempted murder, a count of aggravated assault, three counts of neglect of a care-dependent person and three counts of reckless endangerment, the AG's Office says.

Yellowstone National Park had to euthanize a newborn bison calf this week after an unidentified visitor handled the wild animal, according to a release from the National Park Service.The bison calf was falling behind its herd and mother as they crossed the Lamar River in Wyoming on Saturday evening. Though park guests are warned not to interact with wildlife, a man approached the animal.In what appeared to be an attempt to hurry the calf along, the unidentified man touched the bison and pushed it up from the river and onto the roadway.The National Park Authority claimed after crossing the river, the bison calf was observed as it tried to approach and follow both cars and people in the park.Park rangers repeatedly tried to reunite the calf with its herd, but all efforts were unsuccessful.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a licensed gun owner shot and wounded a man who smashed her car window with a crowbar during a rush hour road rage confrontation in Philadelphia. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 2200 block of Market Street just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday for repots of a shooting victim. Police found a 22-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the groin and drove him to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters that the shooting happened about eight blocks away during a road rage incident at the intersection of 30th and Chestnut streets. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESInvestigators believe that during the confrontation the man approached a 27-year-old woman's car and smashed her passenger's side window with a crowbar. The woman, who police say is licensed to carry a firearm, fired one shot from inside her car that struck the man in the groin.

PHILADELPHIA - A Pennsylvania man has been arrested for running what authorities call a gun trafficking operation connected to several homicides and violent crimes. In a press conference held Wednesday, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele announced the arrest of 23-year-old Tamir Hartsock of Glenside, Pennsylvania. Hartsock faces numerous felony charges for straw purchasing and trafficking 15 firearms, of which four were recovered and connected to homicides and crimes in Philadelphia. Investigators say Hartsock purchased his first two guns on September 9, 2020, shortly after his 21st birthday.
