Woman with coronavirus says 'sudden' loss of smell was first sign of infection

Scientists have warned that losing a sense of smell could be a warning sign of coronavirus infection. It comes after experts studied a woman in her 40s who complained of the symptom after contracting Covid-19, as well as experiencing a dry cough.

She did not have a fever, which is commonly identified as a symptom of the virus, and she also didn't lose her sense of taste, as reported by the Express.

The patient was able to successfully identify the taste difference in salty, sweet, sour and bitter food, but couldn't differentiate in between five distinctive smells, scientists revealed.
