2 men charged in connection to fatal New Year's Eve shooting at Wawa in Linwood

WILMINGTON, Del. - Officials announced charges Wednesday against two men in connection with a shooting on New Year's Eve at a Wawa in Linwood.

Jahmier Council, 22, of Chester, and Zymear Jones, 22, of Wilmington, Delaware, were both charged with numerous counts including criminal homicide, murder of the first, second, and third degrees, conspiracy robbery, and aggravated assault.

Zymear Jones was also charged with felony firearms charges. The New Year's Eve shooting left one victim dead and a second victim critically wounded.The deceased was later identified as 18-year-old Nasir Allen.

Jones was arrested in Delaware on Tuesday with the assistance of the US Marshals service.Council remains at-large, and law enforcement is seeking the public’s assistance in locating him. "The suspects in this case planned to steal a half-pound of marijuana from the decedent.
