AIBA want to force their way back into controlling boxing in the Olympics after Tokyo 2020 was put back 12 months. The amateur boxing governing body was banned by the IOC from running the Olympic qualifiers and tournament because of years of finance and government issues.
The sport was close to being thrown out of the Games because of alleged corruption. The IOC set up a task force to run the Olympic qualifiers and the tournament which meant they had full control on the selection of referees, judges and other officials.
But now AIBA hopes to force their way back in following the coronavirus pandemic delaying this summer's Games in Japan. They will lobby the IOC over the coming months in a bid to prove they've cleaned up their act with some
