AMC is firing back at Universal Pictures after the CEO opened up about the success of their straight to VOD success with Trolls World Tour.
The animated flick earned $95 million in rental fees in the first 19 days on demand. Now, AMC boss Adam Aron wrote a letter to Universal Studios Chairman Donna Langley in response to NBC Universal CEO’s Jeff Shell‘s statements about the success and his points that “as soon as theaters reopen, we expect to release movies on both formats.” The letter explains that he understood that the decision to take Trolls World Tour into homes was an exception during the coronavirus pandemic, which forced all theaters to close for the safety of the country. “Going forward, AMC will not license any Universal movies
