Experts have warned that a new, raised red rash and unexplained marks on the skin could be signs of coronavirus. Data from Italy shows that one in five patients hospitalised with the deadly disease, which has seen the world got into lockdown, developed rashes or experienced changes to the skin.

In the data, it also revealed that in some of the cases, it could be the only or first sign of contracting the virus. The main symptoms of coronavirus are a new and continuous cough, and a high temperature, according to the NHS, which has seen 131 Brit health service workers die after contracting Covid-19.

Diarrhoea, a sore throat and aches and pains can also indicate that a person has been infected, according to World Health Organization (WHO).
