FORT BENNING, Ga. - The U.S. Army identified two soldiers killed by a falling tree on Tuesday in north Georgia.
Officials said Army Ranger candidates 2nd Lt. Evan Fitzgibbon and Staff Sgt. George Taber died during a weather-induced training hold at Yonah Mountain outside of Dahlonega.
Both soldiers were pronounced dead at a hospital. Three other soldiers were injured. Two were treated for injuries that weren't considered life-threatening while another is hospitalized in stable condition.An 18-year-old Evan Fitzgibbon shows off his Certification of Appointment to West Point Academy.
