Arsenal will be shopping in the transfer equivalent of the bargain bin when the summer window opens, after the club's budget took a huge financial hit from the coronavirus pandemic.

Given the big money spent on Nicolas Pepe, William Saliba and Kieran Tierney last summer, funds were limited for new boss Mikel Arteta in the January window - his first as Gunners head coach.

At the beginning of the month there were links to the likes of Dayot Upamecano and others, but in the end Arteta focused on bolstering his defensive options with two loan additions in the form of Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares.

And it seems that the young manager will have to make do with finding low budget, temporary solutions to his squad issues once again this summer.
