There's been another sharp rise in coronavirus deaths in Greater Manchester - 833 people have now died

More than 800 people with coronavirus have now died in Greater Manchester's hospitals. Another 48 lives have been claimed by the virus, bringing the region's death toll to 833.

NHS data shows the number of people who have died from coronavirus in UK hospitals has risen by 596 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 16,060.

On Sunday mental health hospitals run by Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust and Pennine Care Trust recorded their first COVID-19 deaths.

The biggest increase in the last 24 hours was recorded at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust where another 12 patients died.
