The world’s oldest man has profound words for those separated from loved ones during coronavirus lockdown. Bob Weighton, who also lived through the Spanish flu pandemic in 1918, celebrated his 112th birthday yesterday in isolation as the COVID-19 pandemic grips the world.
But the great grandfather of 25 took it in his stride - and had some inspirational things to say during an interview on Good Morning Britain’s extended hour.
Bob told Piers Morgan and Lorraine Kelly that he and his wife Agnes didn’t see each other for four years when they were courting.
The couple spent time living and working in different continents - with their letters taking up to two months to be delivered to each other.
