Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been criticised for claiming coronavirus could be detected in the water supply, directly contracting expert advice from health professionals.
The Prime Minister likely meant the waste water or sewage, but said testing could soon detect the disease in the water supply of a town.
Responding to a question from Conservative MP for Witney Robert Courts in Parliament, Mr Johnson said the Covid alert system would "in time, be able to detect the disease, for example, in the water supply of a town".
His response produced a strong reaction on Twitter, and a flurry of Tweets have since come in ridiculing the PM. One quick witted user even joked bottled water could soon be in short supply, a reference to hysteric
