Boris Johnson is set to introduce so-called 'Plan B' measures to curb the spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant, reports suggest.
According to reports in the Financial Times, the prime minister could announce the new measures as soon as today. The paper said three Whitehall sources had confirmed that further measures including working from home and the use of vaccine passports in certain venues would be brought in.
One source, the paper said, suggested the move was a "dead cat" to distract from recent clams that No 10 staff had a lockdown-breaking Christmas party last year.
The prime minister is under increasing pressure to address the allegations after leaked footage of a 'mock' press conference, in which Downing Street aides can be
