Prime Minister Boris Johnson will hold a coronavirus press conference tonight. Downing Street has confirmed the press conference will take place at 6pm.

Earlier today the Financial Times reported that Mr Johnson is set to introduce so-called 'Plan B' measures to curb the spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant.

According to the reports the prime minister could announce the new measures as soon as today.
