BRASSIC'S Joe Gilgun has slammed TV for ‘painting the working classes in a miserable light’ ahead of season two. The Sky Comedy returns tomorrow night and once again follows Joe's character Vinnie and his friends in the northern town of Hawley.
The group do what they can to keep money in their pockets, including various crimes, but Joe thinks writer Danny Brocklehurst's script is a true reflection of working class life in comparison to other productions.
He explained during a chat with the Evening Standard: "It’s a working-class show, about working-class people and the microcosms of these towns that are all over England but that are never represented apart from Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
