Statues and war memorials across the UK are being boarded up over fears they could be targeted. From Winston Churchill to Nelson Mandela, it is feared the monuments will be targeted by either anti-racism or far-right protesters as Brits take to the streets following the death of George Floyd for a third weekend running.
In wake of the unarmed black man's death in police custody in Minneapolis, Black Lives Matter protesters have rallied worldwide, calling for an end to racial injustices.
The vast majority of people demonstrating have done so peacefully. Last weekend, protesters in Bristol captured headlines around the world last Friday when they tore down a statue of slave trader Edward Colston and threw it into the harbour.
