Winston Churchill's statue and the Cenotaph in central London have been boarded up in a bid to protect the monuments from Black Lives Matter protesters.
With BLM protesters taking a stand against racism, last week the statue of a slave trader, Edward Colston was pulled down. The move faced backlash and now the Mayor of London has ordered to protect some statues.
Overnight, workers boarded up the two monuments as Sadiq Khan's office stressed that the majority of anti-racism demonstrations have been "peaceful" but that a decision had been taken to temporarily cover them.
