Britain's Covid deaths spike by 391 in highest Saturday rise since May

coronavirus death toll in the UK's hospitals increased by 401.NHS England said that of the 326 people who had died in its hospitals, two of them were aged between 20 and 39.Health authorities in Scotland said it had 32 deaths from Covid, Wales 31 and Northern Ireland registered 12 fatalities yesterday.The daily test positivity rate increased to 5.9% from 4.8% the previous day, taking the total positive results in Scotland up to 87,247.In Northern Ireland, the Department of Health said a ten more people with Covid-19 have died, bringing the death toll up to 923.Following an update which suggested the outbreak might be shrinking on Friday, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said that he is “more and more con­­fident” of a re­­­­turn to normality.
