A care homes inquiry has been launched by the Scottish Parliament to probe serious issues during the coronavirus pandemic.Residents, their families and staff were invited to share their experiences with MSPs after concerns about access to protective clothing and support during the outbreak.The Scottish Government’s testing policy and preparation for any second wave of infection will also face parliamentary scrutiny.The virus is believed to have hit at least 40 per cent of care homes so far, and more than half the deaths recorded in Scotland between April 20 and 26 were in care homes.Yesterday, 28 of 34 residents at a home on the Isle of Skye were confirmed positive for Covid-19, raising fears for a further spread in the community.Lewis
