Alan Shearer has told Premier League officials that players should be consulted before Project Restart is allowed to get underway.

It comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson's address to the nation that seemed to put the brakes on a return to live sport.

Coronavirus transmission rates have not decreased enough for a lockdown to be lifted. Premier League clubs are set to meet once more to discuss what the next step should be.

But former Newcastle striker Shearer has urged officials to consider the opinions of players, who are at risk of being infected if they return to the pitch.
