Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan slammed the government's "shambolic" new approach to airport closures and quarantine measures months on from keeping air traffic going across the UK - while also hitting out over the care home death toll.

The host hit out at the "second epidemic" going on in UK care homes, after lack of testing and a huge number of infections and deaths across the 11,000 in the UK.

Despite other countries stopping people from around the world from arriving in a bid to stop the coronavirus, the UK kept airports open and allowed most travel to go ahead.

It's since been confirmed amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that those who arrive in the UK from abroad, must now follow quarantine rules.
