According to the Philadelphia Police Department, officers notified investigators about the crash on Monday evening just before 9:45 p.m. Authorities say the crash occurred on the 5000 block of Fort Mifflin Road in Southwest Philadelphia. Officials say a 2004 Honda Civic driven by a 17-year-old was going north on Fort Mifflin Road. Two passengers were in the car, according to crash investigators. At the same time, a 2018 Ford Econoline Penske vehicle was going south on Fort Mifflin Road, per police. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAccording to authorities, the driver of the Honda lost control, entered the southbound lane and struck the Penske vehicle head on. The teen driver of the Honda and the passenger in the front seat sustained serious injuries, officials say. The passenger in the back seat, later identified as 16-year-old Cole Gatti, was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where officials say he died Wednesday afternoon."It’s very hard," Cole’s mom, Jennifer Gatti, sighed.

Police: 62-year-old woman among 4 shot in Nicetown-Tioga

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say four people, including a 62-year-old woman, were shot Thursday night in Philadelphia's Nicetown-Tioga neighborhood.Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the 3700 block of North Carlisle Street for reports of a shooting. Responding officers found three men - ages 25, 34 and 40 - suffering from various gunshot wounds both inside and outside a property, according to police.A 62-year-old woman was also found by police with a gunshot wound to the chest. All four victims were taken to Temple University Hospital where the woman was admitted in critical condition.No arrests have been reported and police have not said what may have sparked the shooting.

3 men injured in South Philadelphia shooting, police say

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - Three men are recovering after they were all shot in South Philadelphia.Officials say the shooting happened in South Philadelphia Thursday evening, about 5:15, on the 2300 block of South 22nd Street.Two of the men, a 28-year-old and a 31-year-old, were found by 1st District officers with gunshot wounds to their legs.
