Service users at the Change Mental Health Resource Centre in Castle Douglas have been working on a quilt project for Mental Health Awareness Week.

The project began with a conversation about “change”. The group explored what it takes to get from a negative mental space to a more positive one.

Some of these things are “being seen”, “being in a safe space” and “feeling valued.” Service users used this as a starting point to explore their own mental health journey and portray it through a combination of textile techniques.

The result is a beautiful array of textile collage, cross stitch, printed photography, crochet and knitting which expresses different feelings and the things that help to keep us well.
