Chelsea could lose out in their efforts to sign Luka Jovic after reports that Real Madrid could offer him to Napoli in a swap deal for Fabian Ruiz.
The Blues were thought to be chasing Jovic before he joined Los Blancos from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer. And Frank Lampard has been credited with an interest in the striker once again with a view to signing him in the next transfer window.
Lampard is sure to look to bolster the forward line at the end of the season, with doubts over the long-term futures of Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi.
Things have not panned out how Jovic would have wanted at the Bernabeu, making just four La Liga starts and appearing in another 11 from the bench.
