Chile coach Reinaldo Rueda has defended Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez after a 'traumatic and tortuous' year. After failing to meet expectations at Old Trafford, Sanchez was loaned out to Inter Milan last summer but has featured just nine times for them this season.
The 31-year-old saw his progress halted by injury at last year's Copa America before he underwent surgery on an ankle problem last October.
Things haven't gone according to plan for Sanchez since he moved to United, but international manager Rueda is confident he will soon rediscover his best form. "It has been a traumatic, very tortuous year for him.
