Chivas has ramped up production of hand sanitiser for frontline NHS staff and communities in Dumbarton battling coronavirus.The whisky giant, which has a bottling plant at Kilmalid, is producing the product to support frontline NHS staff and local groups helping the elderly and vulnerable.A total of 4000 litres of hand gel have been delivered to the plant where it will be packaged and distributed to health workers and local third sector organisations.Meanwhile, two tankers of Strathclyde grain spirit were dispatched as part of an initial donation of 100,000 litres of pure alcohol to manufacturers who will use it to produce 120,000 litres of much-needed hand sanitiser gel for NHS staff across the UK.Chivas Brothers began packaging hand
