Comedian Ken Shimura Dead at 70 From Coronavirus Complications

Famous Japanese comedian Ken Shimura has tragically passed away at the age of 70 after suffering from Coronavirus complications.

His agents confirmed that he had suffered “pneumonia-like symptoms” and died on Sunday evening (March 29). He first reported symptoms on March 17, and was hospitalized on March 20.

He has been called “Japan’s Robin Williams” and was hugely famous in Japan. CNN reports that the country is in mourning with TV stations extensively covering his tragic death.
