Coronation Street star 'sacked' after having cosmetic surgery without consulting show bosses
A Coronation Street actress was reportedly written out of the soap after they underwent plastic surgery without consulting show bosses.
Lynne Perrie made her first appearance as Ivy Brennan was in June 1971. Originally a minor role, Lynne was able to take on other work until Ivy became a regular character in 1978, including cabaret dates and guest appearances in TV drama series including Crown Court and Follyfoot.
On February 5, 1994, she underwent a lip enhancement procedure without informing her bosses at the soap. Following her cosmetic surgery, Lynne resumed filming for Coronation Street, with her new enhanced lips suddenly appearing on screen.
However, she soon left the show, with her final scenes as Ivy airing on March 25, 1994. While some sources suggest she was let go due to this, others claim that she felt her character Ivy had reached its end and had no further storyline.
