Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden has opened up about the second cancer scare that came after her first battle with grade-three breast cancer. The 34-year-old professional dancer, who was diagnosed with aggressive grade three breast cancer in May 2023, faced the worrying ordeal after finding a lump in her breast while on her honeymoon with new hubby Ben Jones.
Despite the subsequent devastating news, Amy stayed strong through the setbacks. Her journey was emotionally and physically tough, as her two initial rounds of chemotherapy led to emergency hospital admissions due to life-threatening issues including sepsis and blood clots.
Following a mastectomy, Amy completed her chemo but had to sit out the 2023 series of Strictly. However, July last year brought "another type of cancer" diagnosis, prompting a new round of chemo the following month.
Fast forward to February this year, and the brave Strictly favourite shared the happy news that her health check showed "no evidence of disease", which she hailed as her "biggest accomplishment yet".
