Coronation Street 'will ignore coronavirus pandemic' in new upcoming scenes

Coronation Street will reportedly not feature any reference to the coronavirus pandemic when the most recently filmed episodes do air.

It was said to have been decided that show bosses did not want to include any reference to the COVID-19 health crisis in case the issues subsided by the time the episodes come to air in the summer.

Speaking to The Sun, a show insider said: "They were finishing scenes that had already been written, so there are no references to social distancing and the like. "As the episodes won’t air until the summer they wouldn't have known - and still don't know now - what the situation is going to be by then."
