Spice, a former legal high, has proved to be a scourge on Manchester. Long after it was criminalised in 2016, the 'Zombie' drug, a mixture of toxic cannabinoids, has wreaked havoc on our city.
It forces its users into catatonic, zombie-like states, creating damaging addictions among the city's homeless population, as well as causing associated anti-social behaviour and drug influenced crime.
Some addicts have travelled from outside the city on the 'Spice trail' to get their drugs here. The problem has also reached our prisons.
