As the COVID-19 crisis continues, many Kingston seniors endure isolation to stay safe in their homes. One Kingstonian who is well into her 90s has kept herself busy doing her favourite past-time. “No, I never get bored,” says Johanna Klaassen.
Klaassen is a mother of four, with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, has always kept herself busy. But during the novel coronavirus pandemic, she turned to her knitting — something she has done for decades. “Well yes, it is my hobby,” says Klaassen, “because I have always knitted. “I don’t know how many pairs of socks I have knitted … but if one pair is finished and especially before Christmas, there are a lot of people who got socks because I knitted them.” Klaassen’s latest project
