Coronavirus: Alberta MLAs to resume sitting to pass late utility bill legislation

Alberta politicians are to return to the legislature on Wednesday to debate bills tied to the COVID-19 outbreak. Government house leader Jason Nixon says he will introduce legislation to allow people facing hardship due to the pandemic to delay paying utility bills.

The intent is to allow residential, farm, and small-business customers to put off electricity and natural gas payments until June 18.
