Coronavirus Ayrshire: New record amount of daily cases as hospital numbers increase

Ayrshire has recorded a new record for the amount of coronavirus cases reported in one day. A total of 88 positive cases have been declared in the past 24 hours with the region's total cumulative cases now at 2,383.Hospital numbers are continuing to rise in the region with 29 - an increase of four from yesterday - in hospital batting coronavirus.A total of five people are in ICU also.Across Scotland, 956 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded with the nation's total now at 38,998.No new deaths have been reported across Scotland and the death toll remains at 2,550.A total of 449 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these 35 were in intensive care.March: 177 April: 585 May: 298 June: 195 July: 21 August: 72 Se.
