Police swooped in on a bloke with a backpack strapped to the front of his body in Nottingham only to find it was packed to the brim with drugs.
CCTV picked him up and the Covid-19 team was deployed to Gritley Mews in The Meadows to get a closer look. Officers then stopped the man and searched his bag, inside which was a massive haul of cannabis in a plastic sack.
Nottinghamshire Live reported the man told officers: “I’m buying in bulk because you can’t get out because of the lockdown.” It is an excuse that officers have heard many times before, so he is arrested on suspicion with intent to supply.
Drugs are still a problem for police despite the coronavirus lockdown, according to police. Inspector James Walker leads a team of police
