Coronavirus outbreak: Freeland says it’s ‘premature’ to set a date for lifting of U.S. / Canada border restrictions

Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said on Wednesday that based on what health officials are saying, because Canadians have been disciplined in physical distancing they can be “cautiously optimistic” on the current state of COVID-19 in Canada.

She said there is still a ways to go and it would be “premature” to set a date to lift border restrictions currently in place along the Canada-U.S.
