Ayrshire's coronavirus death toll has risen today after historic cases were discovered. Scottish Government figures show that the region's case total has risen by three to 1,293.But officials have said two of those cases were from April and were "just sent" by the labratory.One of these cases resulted in a death, which has been reflected in today's new data.It means that Scotland's COVID-19 death toll now stands at 2,492.Across Ayrshire and Arran there are 172 deaths reported by the Scottish Government's method.Most recent National Records of Scotland data says that deaths linked to COVID-19 in the region stands at 294.The statement from the Scottish Government reads: "Two of the new cases from NHS Ayrshire & Arran are results from April.
