People who have recovered from Covid-19 may be the answer to treating and saving the life of those currently suffering from the coronavirus, findings have suggested.
Following the suggestion, the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) is appealing to former Covid-19 patients to donate blood. Dr Jonas Del Rosario, a PGH spokesman, told GMA News: "These patients who have been shown to be negative for Covid-19 have their blood antibodies against this virus." The body produces antibodies, which are proteins, in a bid to protect the body as they destroy disease-carrying organisms that enter the system, like a virus or bacteria.
