Promising coronavirus HIV drug with 'high hopes' has no effect on infected patients

A drug which was labelled as a "promising" option to treat coronavirus patients has "no effect on infected patients" – dashing hopes of a cure.

The HIV medication emerged on the black market in Russia became the subject of more than 20 Covid-19 treatment trials worldwide as a treatment and post-exposure prevention.
