Three quarters of key workers who applied for childcare in Renfrewshire did not send their children to school, we can reveal.Figures obtained by the Express show that, on the first day of the emergency provision being implemented in schools across the region, only 26 per cent of children allocated a place turned up.Of the 837 children expected to attend class on Tuesday, March 24, only 231 showed up.The figures come just days after the Express reported that hundreds of key workers, from carers to food producers, were forced to remain at home as they had no childcare.That includes Kelly Balch and her partner William Beard, who work for distribution company DHL at its Paisley base.They are both key workers as the company is distributing
