Curzon Ashton FC had been due to host the East Manchester Junior Football League (EMJFL) cup finals this weekend at their Tameside Stadium.

But after an alleged breach of Covid rules during an adult charity fixture on Wednesday (19 May), the council have told the club to stop this weekend's games.

They have also been issued with a fine of £1,000. As a result, hundreds of young footballers have faced further heartbreak, as yet another important football fixture has been cancelled due to the pandemic.
