A family stranded in Spain are calling on the government to find them an urgent flight back to Manchester before their supply of medication runs out.

Kate Watts is stuck near Alicante with her 71-year-old parents, David and Christine, after four different flights home were cancelled.

David has bad asthma and COPD, and his wife Christine has a heart condition, for which she requires vital medication for. Kate, 41, is also keen to get home as she works for the NHS in an administrative role.

The family, from Wigan, were due to fly back to Manchester Airport on Saturday 21 March with Ryanair. David and Christine had been in Spain since January, and were met by daughter Kate for a week holiday on March 14.
