NEW DELHI: Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said while there had been a spike in covid-19 cases over the last two days, there was no community transmission in Delhi, and that local transmission was also under control.
With over 1,500 people being taken from Markaz Nizamuddin, where a religious event was held, to the hospital for testing and to quarantine centres, Kejriwal said the total number of positive cases may increase in the next few days.
Delhi has a total of 97 cases. On Sunday, there was an increase by 23 cases and 25 cases on Monday. Five people have been discharged from the hospital, two people lost their lives and one person left mid-way for Singapore.
