Coronavirus case numbers are now falling throughout England - but West Midland hospitals are under the highest pressure, new data shows.
Hospitalisation rates are beginning to stabilise as the third lockdown remains in place, according to the latest update from Public Health England (PHE).
However, the West Midlands now leads England for the highest number of hospital admissions, the report found. It came as case numbers dropped across the board, according to the weekly PHE infections surveillance report for the week ending January 17.
London continues to record the highest case rates, but has seen a dramatic drop in the numbers testing positive week-on-week.
